Bottle and Pitcher — Fine Art

Bottle and Pitcher by Juan Gris shows a bottle and a pitcher set against a plain ground. The paint lays in flat areas of colour, with thin lines carving out the forms. The picture keeps the objects separate and easy to read. This fine art print keeps those clean shapes and the crisp painted lines.

The white frame gives the image a clean edge that matches the straight lines in the drawing. A wood frame brings out the warmer brown tones in the picture. The frame stops the painted shapes from fading into the wall.

On a kitchen wall above the sink you notice the bottle first, then the pitcher beside it. The light from the window reads the flat colour areas without glare. The picture holds a simple still life look that suits a busy room.
