Bottle Wine Glass and Fruit Bowl — Fine Art

Bottle Wine Glass and Fruit Bowl sets three objects on a plain field. A bottle, a drinking glass and a fruit bowl stand near each other. Juan Gris painted the shapes as flat coloured planes mixed with curved lines. The fruit bowl holds round forms that read as solid shapes against the background.

A white fine art frame gives the picture a clean edge on the wall. The white border separates the painted field from the room and keeps the grey planes from blending outward.

On a kitchen wall near the sink the bottle and glass hold your eye first. The fruit bowl stays secondary. You notice the line work before the colour when you stand a step away.
