About this work

Bushbaby 2004

Bushbaby 2004 uses steady painted marks on a flat surface. Jasper Johns built the image from layers of thin colour that sit close together. The subject is a small nocturnal animal, shown with his usual quiet method. The painting keeps the outlines clear and the surface even.

This fine art print sits in a frame with a back panel. You get the flat painted look of the original on matte paper, so the pale areas stay soft. The frame gives the picture a clean edge without changing the colours.

It works on a bedroom wall where the lamp sits low. You see the dark outline of the animal first, then the thin colour layers under it. The room stays calm and the picture holds its own quiet space.

Our 12-color fine art printing technology delivers vivid, accurate colors with real depth, far beyond standard 4-color inkjet printing. The paper and wood are FSC-certified. Every piece is printed and shipped on demand, so there is no minimum order and every order is fresh.
