Cartoon for Tanya 1972

Cartoon for Tanya 1972 shows brushy painted marks arranged in a loose layout. The image comes from Jasper Johns ongoing work with repeated forms and paint handling. You see the build up of colour through thin layers.

This fine art print is made on a matte sheet so the paint tones stay even without shine. It is finished with a white frame that gives the picture a clean edge on the wall.

It sits on a bedroom wall near a low lamp. In the evening you notice the softer paint passages first, then the tighter marks near the middle.
