About this work
Cataract 3 1967 shows bands of colour shifting in a steady rhythm. The lines move left to right with small changes in tone. Bridget Riley built the image from repeated shapes that sit side by side. From across the room the bands read as one moving field.
This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The paper is matte, so the tones stay flat and do not shine under a lamp. A light frame on a dark wall keeps the bands separate. A wood frame beside wooden furniture links the print to the room.
It fits a dining room wall at standing height. From the table you notice the slow change from one band to the next. The eye moves along the edge of each stripe before it rests.
