Celia Thaxters Garden, Appledore, Isles of Shoals — Fine Art

Celia Thaxters Garden, Appledore, Isles of Shoals shows a garden path with flowers and leafy plants set against a house wall. Childe Hassam paints the bright flowers with quick strokes and loose colour patches. The scene reads as a sunny American garden from the impressionist period.

This fine art print sits on a wall where daylight touches the surface. A light frame on a dark wall or a dark frame on a pale wall keeps the flowers clear. You can also match a wood frame to nearby wooden furniture.

It works on a kitchen wall near a sink, seen from the doorway. The painted flowers hold their shape from that distance, while the small stroke marks stay visible when you stand closer.
