Chavade — Fine Art

Chavade starts with a small central form and lets thin lines spread outward in a soft field of grey and green. The marks sit close together at the center and loosen toward the edge. Richard Pousette-Dart worked this way in his abstract paintings, building form from repeated small gestures.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The white frame gives the picture a clear edge on the wall and leaves the pale tones open. The dark wood frame sits heavier against the grey and keeps the spread of lines contained.

In a bedroom, the central form reads first from the foot of the bed, then the small lines come into view from the bedside. On a stairwell wall, the repeated marks stay readable as you pass, and the frame edge keeps the spread in one calm line.
