Cliffs of Darkness — Fine Art

Cliffs of Darkness shows tall dark rock faces rising above a narrow stretch of water. Eyvind Earle painted many of these scenes with crisp shapes and a quiet mood. The image stays mostly in deep greens and browns, with a thin band of pale sky at the top.

You see it on the landing wall near the top stair, where the dark rock matches the wood banister. From the hall door the pale sky line stays readable, and the small marks in the rock face show when you pass by.
