Charred plastic peels back like skin. This is Combustion, Alberto Burri’s 1961 experiment in controlled burn.
The surface is a battlefield of melted ridges and soot-streaked valleys. Gold leaf glints through the wounds, a quiet contrast to the scorched black. Stitches of red thread hold the edges together, as if mending what fire tried to erase.
Hang it above a low credenza where afternoon light can catch the gold’s uneven sheen.
