Contrast Order and Chaos

Contrast Order and Chaos by MC Escher places repeating shapes on one side and irregular marks on the other. The division reads as two forces meeting on the sheet. MC Escher often worked in black ink and clean line, and this image follows that way of drawing.

The fine art print uses a matte finish so the black marks stay sharp without shine. A light frame on a dark wall lets the clear line work stand apart. A dark frame on a pale wall makes the shapes read first.

It hangs on the landing wall where the stairs turn. From the lower step you see the split layout, and from the top step the small line work comes forward.

Information

Frequently asked

Yes — this Fine Art piece comes framed and arrives ready to hang. It is printed with our 12-color fine art technology on smooth matte paper (200 gsm), protected by shatterproof plexiglass, and set in a durable pine wood frame. A hanging kit is included, so you can put it straight on the wall.

Our 12-color fine art printing technology delivers vivid, accurate colors with real depth, far beyond standard 4-color inkjet printing. The print is on smooth matte paper (200 gsm, 0.26 mm thick) that gives a clean, glare-free display, and it sits behind shatterproof plexiglass in a durable pine wood frame (20 mm thick, 10 to 14 mm wide). The paper and wood are FSC-certified. Every piece is printed and shipped on demand, so there is no minimum order and every order is fresh.
