Cut Outs 1 uses cut paper shapes laid on each other to build a simple picture. The artist made these sheets by drawing with scissors, so each edge has a steady, hand cut line. Colours stay flat beside each other, with no soft blending between them.

This fine art print sits in a frame with a back panel, ready to hang on the wall. The paper surface is matte, so the flat colours read as solid fields and the cut edges do not pick up a shine.

It works on a plain wall above a desk. From a few steps away the shapes read as bold blocks of colour. When you stand closer you notice the straight cut edges and the way each sheet rests on the one below it.
