Damn Braces

The title Damn Braces points to a tight layout, where the marks press against the edges of the sheet. Sam Francis often left wide open ground around his work, so the shapes stay near the borders and the middle stays open.

This fine art print comes ready to hang. A metal hanger is fitted to the back and goes straight onto a nail or screw. You do not need to buy a separate frame. The paper takes the marks without shine, so the dark areas stay flat under a lamp.

Hang it on a long wall above a desk, with the bottom of the sheet about eye height when you stand. From across the room the open middle looks quiet. Step closer and the repeated lines give the sheet a steady rhythm.

Information

Frequently asked

Yes — this Fine Art piece comes framed and arrives ready to hang. It is printed with our 12-color fine art technology on smooth matte paper (200 gsm), protected by shatterproof plexiglass, and set in a durable pine wood frame. A hanging kit is included, so you can put it straight on the wall.

Our 12-color fine art printing technology delivers vivid, accurate colors with real depth, far beyond standard 4-color inkjet printing. The print is on smooth matte paper (200 gsm, 0.26 mm thick) that gives a clean, glare-free display, and it sits behind shatterproof plexiglass in a durable pine wood frame (20 mm thick, 10 to 14 mm wide). The paper and wood are FSC-certified. Every piece is printed and shipped on demand, so there is no minimum order and every order is fresh.
