David Hockney by David Hockney — Fine Art

David Hockney by David Hockney uses bright flat planes of colour set next to one another. The picture follows his long interest in swimming pools and California light. Blue water meets a hard line of the pool edge and a pale ground.

This fine art print comes with a frame in white, wood, dark wood or black. The frame edge gives the picture a clean line on the wall. On this image, a white or wood finish keeps the blue tones open and lets the pool edge hold its own line.

It fits a bedroom landing wall where the morning light hits the surface. From the door you notice the flat blue patch first, then the sharp edge of the pool. The frame sits quiet against the paint and the room stays simple.
