About this work
Deseret - 1959 by Theodoros Stamos shows broad dark bands that cross the sheet in a loose horizontal rhythm. The paint spreads thin in places and gathers thicker along the edges of each band. You follow the pressure of the brush as it slows and lifts, leaving a pale ground between the black lines.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. A white frame gives the picture a clear edge on the wall, and the clean line keeps the dark bands from spreading outward.
It fits a study wall over a plain desk where the lamp throws a steady light across the page. From the doorway you read the broad bands first, then the small shifts in tone between them.
