Diamond Cut Series — Fine Art

Larry Zox repeats sharp angled cuts across the sheet in Diamond Cut Series - 1966. The angled lines meet at firm corners and break the flat field into stepping shapes. A fine art print of the work shows each hard edge without softening the corners.

The print sits on a matte paper that holds the black lines without shine. The frame finish can follow the room, so a light frame sits on a dark wall or a wood frame rests beside wooden furniture. The matte surface keeps the hard edges clear under a ceiling light.

A hallway with a pale painted wall holds the print above a narrow bench. From the end of the hall, the strong black cuts read as clean steps against the pale paint. Near the bench you notice the small gaps where the lines stop short.
