Don Quixote — Fine Art

The title Don Quixote sits over a field of built-up paint. Hans Hofmann presses the brush against the canvas and lets the marks overlap. The surface carries thick ridges where one colour meets another. The work uses the push and pull painting method.

You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The print keeps those ridges clear on a matte paper. A light frame on a dark wall lets the paint surface stand out without shine. The frame finish can follow the room, so the wood frame beside wooden furniture feels natural.

On a stairwell wall the paint ridges change with the room light. From the landing you read the overlapping colours, and near the bottom step the dark marks settle into the wall line.
