About this work
Echo Rock - 1905 shows a rocky shoreline with orange and green paint laid in broad strokes. The scene comes from the French postimpressionist practice of Armand Guillaumin, with colour built in thick bands rather than thin glazes.
The fine art print comes ready to hang. You can see the bold shapes of the rocks and the water line as they sit across the sheet. Winding paths follow the line of the shore in warm tones.
The print is finished in a white frame. The clean frame edge gives the image a clear line on the wall and keeps the orange bands from spilling into the room. Set it on a brick wall in a kitchen, where the morning dish light catches the green strokes and the orange rocks sit warm against the tiles.
