Emblemata Anvil — Fine Art

Emblemata Anvil shows a heavy tool drawn in the usual clear line style of MC Escher. The shape sits on a plain ground with black outlines and little shading inside the form. From across the room the image reads as one solid object. Up close the small plotted lines inside the outline become visible.

The fine art print uses matte paper so the black lines stay soft and there is no shine under a lamp. A white frame gives the picture a clean edge on the wall. The white edge separates the drawing from the room and keeps the outline clear.

It fits on a hallway wall near the stairs. From the bottom step you see the whole anvil shape, and from the landing you notice the fine hatching inside the tool.
