Emblemata Signpost — Fine Art

Emblemata Signpost shows a pointing sign set among simple buildings and paths. The drawing uses steady black lines on a light page. MC Escher often built studies around signs and crossings in his practice of graphic line work. The sign leads the eye along a small route through the scene.

This fine art print arrives with a metal hanger fitted to the back. It goes straight onto a nail or screw, so you hang it without a frame. The matte surface keeps the lines soft under indoor light and avoids shine.

It suits the wall above a desk in a study. From the chair you see the sign and the path first. From the doorway you notice the line work across the sheet.
