About this work
A coloured circle divided into seven light steps and twelve tones sits at the centre of the sheet. The rings step through yellow, orange, red, purple, blue and green in a clear sequence. The title Farbenkugel in 7 Lichtstufen und 12 Tönen - 1921 names this Bauhaus colour wheel study.
This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. The flat colour areas stay clean at a short distance, and the thin dividing lines stay visible when you stand near.
On a bedroom wall, the twelve tones read as a steady ring of colour from the bed. In the morning light the yellow band is the brightest part, and the green steps stay quiet against the painted plaster.
