About this work
Black lines sit in a steady rhythm over a pale field in Fete 1989. The marks repeat without crowding the space, and the empty parts hold the picture together.
The fine art print comes ready to hang. Bridget Riley worked with optical art and hard edge painting during this period, building patterns that change when you move past them. The paper stays matte, so the dark lines do not turn glossy under a lamp.
A metal hanger is fitted to the back, and the picture goes up on a nail or screw without a separate frame to buy. It reads clearly on a kitchen wall near a sink window, where the regular marks stay steady as you wash up.
