About this work
Fire Evening 1929 shows warm tones gathering near the top of the page, with smaller marks dropping down through the space below.
The title hints at a burn and a day ending, while the painted signs look like sparks or embers moving across the surface. Paul Klee built much of his work from line, sign and small patches of colour, a Bauhaus approach that treats each mark as part of a larger system.
This fine art print sits inside a frame with a back panel, and the matte surface lets the warm tones stay flat without shine. You notice the upper marks first from the foot of a staircase, then the smaller signs lower down when you pause on a step.
