Flamingo

Flamingo - 1965 shows painted colour bands stacked from one side to the other across the sheet. The stripes step through different colours, each one a different width.

The bands keep a steady horizontal run and the edges stay sharp. A fine art print on matte paper keeps the colours soft, so the light bands do not catch a glare from a lamp.

The frame can follow the room, a light finish on a dark wall or a dark finish on a pale wall. It suits a hallway wall near the stairs, where you notice the different band widths as you walk past.
