Fold

Fold - 1965 by Charlotte Posenenske sets a narrow crease across the sheet. The line runs straight and leaves two flat planes on either side. The work belongs to a concrete art practice built on clear divisions and repeated forms.

The fine art print carries the same even tone across the sheet. A light frame on a dark wall keeps the crease visible without drawing the eye away from the line.

On the downstairs landing wall, viewed from the bottom step, the straight line reads first. From the kitchen doorway the two planes appear as a quiet split in the plaster.
