About this work
Four Blues Two Discs - 1970 opens on a small group of blue shapes set against a pale ground. Two discs hover near the centre, their edges soft and uneven, while the blue planes around them lean and overlap.
The eye settles on the soft discs before drifting out to the quiet edges. Patrick Heron built his practice around colour fields and clear painted marks, and this image keeps that thinking in view. This fine art print arrives ready to hang on a nail or screw, with a metal hanger already fitted to the back.
No separate frame is needed. The matte surface keeps the blue tones even when the room light shifts. It suits a kitchen wall above a counter, where you notice the two discs first and the pale ground last.
