Four Hearts 1969

Four Hearts 1969 by Jim Dine holds four heart shapes across the sheet. The outlines are bold and the fills vary in colour. From far away the shapes read as simple symbols. Closer up you see the pencil lines and the uneven edges of each form.

This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The matte paper keeps the colours even and does not shine under a lamp. The frame gives the hearts a solid border and the back panel keeps it flat on the wall. The ready to hang option sends it assembled.

In a bedroom it sits above the dresser. From the doorway you read the four hearts as one block of colour. Near the bed you notice the different fills and the rough outline of each shape.
