Gasse Mit Torbogen — Fine Art

A narrow street with a tall arched doorway runs through this scene of Gasse Mit Torbogen. Gabriele Munter painted it in the expressionist style, with quick brush strokes and strong colour patches. The picture turns an ordinary German alley into a bold study of light and shadow.

The fine art print sits in a white, wood, dark wood or black frame that gives the picture a clean edge on the wall. The frame holds the bright colour blocks steady and stops the eye from drifting off the edge.

In a narrow hallway, the archway catches the light from the side window. You see the thick paint marks first, then the darker line of the street as you step back. It works above a console table.
