About this work
Gorim II - 1995 shows a broad sweep of colour crossing the sheet with quick pressure. The paint sits in uneven patches where the brush lifted and pressed again. Emil Schumacher let the gesture carry the mark, leaving ridges where the stroke slowed.
This fine art print is set in a frame with a back panel, so the printed colour holds its edges and the painted texture reads flat against the wall. The fine art paper keeps the soft tones without a shine under a lamp.
It hangs on a stairwell landing where the steps change the view as you walk past. From the bottom step you see the broad colour field first, and from the top you catch the small ridges in the print.
