Grazioso

Grazioso - 1933 by John Ferren shows painted shapes arranged on a sheet. The title comes from the Italian word for graceful, and the marks move without sharp stops. John Ferren painted this in a post war abstract style that used broad strokes and flat colour areas.

This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame is needed. The paper is matte, which lets the painted tones stay even and keeps glare down under a lamp.

It works on a dining room wall. The painted shapes read from the table, while the quiet background stays behind them. From the doorway the large forms are clear, and the metal hanger sits out of sight.
