Green Swing — Fine Art

Green Swing by Alice Baber shows green bands laid over a light ground. The paint runs in even horizontal layers with soft edges. A few darker strokes cross the sheet. The picture reads as a quiet colour field work rather than a scene.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. The frame in white gives the picture a clear line on the wall. White keeps the lighter greens from washing out. A dark wood frame would pull the eye to the edges too early. The white finish lets the colour bands hold the room.

Above a long sofa, the bands read as one wide sweep from the doorway. From across the room the small pencil lines fade and the green stays soft. Near a low shelf the lighter layers sit closer to the eye.
