About this work
Guitar And Music Paper by Juan Gris (1927)
Music paper folds beneath a guitar. This is *Guitar And Music Paper*, a still life that plays with our perception of depth and form. Juan Gris invites us into a world where objects are both fragmented and whole.
The composition balances warm ochres against cooler grays. The guitar, central and commanding, rests on the sheet music, its curves contrasting with the sharp angles of the geometric shapes surrounding it. The interplay of light and shadow adds a dynamic quality to the scene.
This print brings a quiet intensity to a study or music room, where its layered complexity can be appreciated.
