About this work
Hammamet with Mosque 1914 shows a North African port building set against open sky. Paul Klee worked in a Bauhaus style, using flat areas of paint and thin drawn lines. Across the room the picture reads as a few large colour blocks. Up close you see small changes between the painted shapes.
The fine art print comes ready to hang. The frame finish can follow the room, so a wood frame sits beside wooden furniture or a light frame on a dark wall.
On a study wall the picture joins the room without pulling focus. From the desk you notice the mosque shape near the top and the colour blocks below. The surface stays steady in ordinary room light.
