About this work
A black banner shape sits on a pale field in He Didn T Care and Neither Did She 1974. Light and dark tones run across the page in a plain layout. The text reads flat against the ground. Edward Ruscha works with letters and film wording in his practice.
The picture is a fine art print on matte paper. The paper holds the letters without shine, so the text stays flat on the sheet. A light frame on a dark wall or a wood frame beside wooden furniture follows the room.
It suits a reading corner near a desk. From the chair you see the black band and the white space, at the desk you notice the letters sitting still.
