About this work
Hill at Ceret 1921 by Chaim Soutine shows a slope rising under a wide sky. Dark greens and browns press forward, with rough strokes along the ridge.
The paint moves in heavy layers that pull the eye up the hill. Chaim Soutine worked with thick paint and swift hand marks, often turning views into moving colour. The fine art print comes ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw.
You do not need a separate frame. It fits well on a bedroom wall near the bed. From the side of the room you notice the dark ridge standing out against the pale sky.
