Hommage a Vincent van Gogh — Fine Art

Hommage a Vincent van Gogh spreads open colour washes over a white field. The painted marks follow broad colour fields with soft edges. Sam Francis built the surface with thin layers that read clearly from a door and hold their shape at close range.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. You notice the blue and yellow passages first, then the thin white gaps between them. The matte surface keeps the light areas quiet under a ceiling light. The wood frame finish has a warm tone that sits against the cool background without drawing the eye away from the colour.

On a bedroom wall near the bed, the big colour shapes settle over the headboard line. From the dressing table you see the broad fields first, and the small white spaces show only when you stand closer.
