About this work
Il Bersaglio 1928 shows a target painted by Carlo Carrà, a painter who worked in the Futurist and Metaphysical styles. The word bersaglio means target, and the picture sets a round shape against a plain ground. The eye lands on the center circle first, then drifts to the surrounding marks.
The fine art frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black. A black frame puts a sharp border around the target shape. The clear edge keeps the circle from fading into the wall. The frame finish is plain, so the painting and its marks are easy to read.
In a study, the picture hangs on a painted wall above a desk. From the doorway you notice the round center and the flat tones. The target shape stays clear against the darker frame.
