/BIG/The Rose

A thick layer of paint builds up across the sheet in Jay DeFeo BIG The Rose. The marks move in a slow line, darker at one end and thin at the other.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The surface holds its own weight. You see the build first, then the small changes in tone. Jay DeFeo worked with slow build and repeated passes.

The frame finish is white, and the clean edge keeps the heavy paint from spilling off the sheet. A white frame sits plain against the build. It works on a bedroom wall near the bed, where the paint layer reads as a quiet band in the morning light.

Information

Frequently asked

Yes — this Fine Art piece comes framed and arrives ready to hang. It is printed with our 12-color fine art technology on smooth matte paper (200 gsm), protected by shatterproof plexiglass, and set in a durable pine wood frame. A hanging kit is included, so you can put it straight on the wall.

Our 12-color fine art printing technology delivers vivid, accurate colors with real depth, far beyond standard 4-color inkjet printing. The print is on smooth matte paper (200 gsm, 0.26 mm thick) that gives a clean, glare-free display, and it sits behind shatterproof plexiglass in a durable pine wood frame (20 mm thick, 10 to 14 mm wide). The paper and wood are FSC-certified. Every piece is printed and shipped on demand, so there is no minimum order and every order is fresh.
