About this work
Jota - 1959 belongs to the postwar German abstract painting that Ernst Wilhelm Nay developed after his early figurative work. The picture uses a flat colour field with small marks and bands placed across the sheet. The shapes stay simple and the tones stay close to one another.
The fine art print comes ready to hang. The print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. On this picture the matte paper keeps the painted tones even and avoids shine under a lamp.
It fits well above the sideboard in a dining room. From the table you see the broad colour shape, and at the counter the small marks become clear. The metal hanger takes the weight without extra hardware.
