About this work
La Maja con Bandolina - 1907 Rome, Italy shows a woman seated with a soft bandolier across her shoulder. The pose leans toward the cubist period. Pablo Picasso broke the figure into planes and kept the face clear. The drawing uses pencil lines with a few colour patches.
The fine art print sits on a wall near a reading lamp. The frame finish can follow the room, so a wood frame beside wooden furniture feels settled. Matte paper holds the pencil marks without shine under the lamp.
On a small dining room wall, the seated figure fills the space above a table. From the doorway you see the planes of the shoulder first, then the face. The dark bandolier ties the room together.
