La plate-bande — Fine Art

La plate-bande - 1988 by Francois Morellet shows a grid of black lines and small squares on a white surface. The lines cross and meet at right angles in a regular pattern that repeats across the sheet.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. A clean white frame gives the grid a hard edge against the wall. The white wood finish keeps the black lines sharp and stops the surface from looking lost.

It works on a hallway wall where you pass it each day. From the narrow space you see the regular crossings first, then the small gaps between the squares.
