About this work
Landscape of Juan-les-Pins shows a coastal view built from short painted strokes and broken colour. Pablo Picasso used this approach in his cubist period, when he split a scene into planes. The shore, water and sky read as separate bands rather than one flat wash.
The fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. The matte paper keeps the light tones from shining under a lamp, so the painted strokes stay even across the surface.
In a dining room, the print sits above the sideboard near the table. From the doorway you notice the horizon line first, then the shorter strokes lower down. In the late morning light the tones stay clear and the edges stay sharp.
