Leonid Afremov by Leonid Afremov — Fine Art

The title Leonid Afremov names a painting built from thick oil paint laid in short strokes. Bright colours sit next to darker tones, with a street or city view suggested by the marks. At a distance the shapes read as a scene, while the thick paint shows up when you stand near. A fine art print of this image keeps that paint feel on a flat sheet.

Leonid Afremov works in thick paint laid in quick strokes across the surface. The picture shows a street scene with bright colours and darker tones. The printed sheet keeps the paint feel without shine under a lamp.

It fits a hallway wall where you pass it twice a day. You notice the bright strokes first, then the knife marks in the paint.
