Lepanto, Part VIII by Cy Twombly carries the rhythm of his late work. The surface shows a pale field with broad scribbled lines that move across the sheet. The marks sit near the center and leave the outer edges open. Nothing sits straight. The eye follows the rough loops from one side to the other.

This fine art print comes ready to hang. A metal hanger is fitted to the back and goes onto a nail or screw without a separate frame. The paper has a matte finish, so the pale ground stays soft under indoor light and the darker lines stay clear.

It sits on a hallway wall beside a wooden bench. From the stairs you catch the loose lines first. When you pause at the landing you notice the pencil marks near the lower edge.
