Little Old Cottage, Egypt Lane, East Hampton — Fine Art

Little Old Cottage, Egypt Lane, East Hampton settles a small house into a quiet street with trees and sky around it. The eye enters at the roofline and rests on the doorway. Empty stretches of yard balance the steep roof.

This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The matte surface keeps the greens and greys from shining under a lamp. You see the painted strokes as soft shapes rather than sharp edges.

It fits a hallway wall where daylight moves slowly. From the far end you read the whole house, while a step closer lets you notice the brushwork of Childe Hassam.
