Marine au cap — Fine Art

Marine au cap - Lyrical Abstraction reads as a coastal scene built from broad painted strokes. Nicolas de Stael worked in a post war european lyrical abstraction style, and the picture keeps that loose rhythm. The surface carries cool blues and warm sand tones with quick marks that suggest water without drawing every wave.

This fine art print sits on a matte paper that holds the soft blues without turning shiny under a lamp. A light frame on a dark wall lets the painted strokes stand out, and a dark frame on a pale wall keeps the whole piece grounded.

On a dining room wall near the table the broad strokes read from the chair, while the smaller pencil lines come into view at the table. The light from the side window moves across the surface during the afternoon.
