Meriggio 1927 — Fine Art

The brushwork in Meriggio 1927 moves across the surface with a quick, uneven hand. Carlo Carra painted this scene in a way that leaves the edge of each stroke open. The marks sit at different depths, so one area reads louder than the next.

This fine art print keeps the paint marks clear on a matte sheet. The paper holds the uneven edges without flattening them, and a light frame on a dark wall will let the marks stay separate. A dark frame on a pale wall does the same from a door threshold.

On a stairwell wall you see the big strokes from the first landing. Up on the third step the small dry runs show up, and the light from the landing lamp falls across the middle of the print.
