Middle Blue — Fine Art

The title Middle Blue points to a pale blue field spread across the surface. Sam Francis lets thin colour wash over a white ground, leaving open gaps between the painted areas. The blue sits in broad layers and fades toward the edges.

This fine art print comes set in a frame with a back panel. The matte surface keeps the blue tones flat under indoor light, so the colour does not shine back at you.

It fits on a narrow wall in a hallway beside a door. From the narrow passage the broad blue shape reads clearly, while the white gaps stay open and uncluttered.
