Minorets — Fine Art

A narrow band of soft green runs across the sheet in Minorets - 1968. The painted band carries small changes in tone, laid down with steady pressure. Mary Fedden worked with painted colour on paper, often leaving flat areas and simple divisions.

You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The white frame gives the picture a clean edge on the wall. The narrow band needs a plain border so the tone changes stay plain to read.

Above a kitchen sink, the green band reads as a calm strip between busy shelves. From the doorway you see the tone shift first, then the small marks in the paint.
