Morning Fog — Fine Art

Morning Fog by Eyvind Earle shows a landscape veiled in soft grey layers with thin tree shapes fading into the distance. The view reads as quiet bands of tone, plain and steady on the paper. Across the room the shapes stay simple, and up close the fine lines in the tree outlines become clearer.

The fine art paper keeps the grey tones soft and there is no shine under a lamp. A light frame on a dark wall lets the pale ground sit forward, while a dark frame on a pale wall pushes the fog layer back.

It hangs on a bedroom wall above the bed at eye level, with a lamp low on a side table. From the doorway the thin tree bands line up, and from across the room the fog layer reads as one calm field.
