About this work

Not Detected 256142

Not Detected 256142 shows a row of dark rectangles against a pale ground. The shapes sit flat and do not overlap.

From the foot of the stairs the bands read as a single block. Up close the paper grain breaks the flat colour into small shifts.

The fine art frame in dark wood gives the image a clean border that holds the pale field against the plaster. It hangs above the bed in a narrow bedroom. From the doorway the dark bands sit steady against the lighter paint on the wall.
